Spacious living in a beautiful mid-century, desert-modern apartment in one of Houston’s most convenient locations

Feb 15 - Sep 6, 2026 (~6.5 months) | 1 bed, 1 bath, fully furnished | 865 sq. ft | $1500/month

Hi, I’m Justin and I’m about to go on a mobilization with the Navy. I don’t want to give up my current apartment since I’ve put in a lot of work to make it an oasis of comfort and style right where Midtown meets Downtown, so I’m making it available for short-term rent between February 15, 2026 and September 6, 2026 (~6.5 months).

I will be renting it out at $1500/month, below market rate and below what I’m paying - I’m basically looking for someone to take care of the apartment (and the plants) while I’m away. If you’re a graduate student or young professional without pets looking for a short-term, fully-furnished rental in a convenient location, this is a great deal for you!

4th floor, corner apartment with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and large balcony with downtown views. Fully furnished, move-in ready. Two special incentives worth $1150 total (see under “So how does this work?” section).

What’s the deal?

Apartment is located at 1001 Cleveland St., Houston, Texas 77019. This unit is currently part of the Marquis Enclave apartment complex, formerly Camden City Centre.

5 minutes from downtown, 12 minutes from the Heights/Museum District/Medical Center, 20 minutes from Hobby Airport, 30 minutes from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

❋ Convenient location

$1500 monthly. Inclusive of rent, cable and internet, valet trash, and community fees (what I’m paying is $1825 - more than happy to share my bill so you can see). Water and electricity are “pay as you use” on my utility accounts - whatever I get charged for your use, you’ll pay me back exactly those amounts. The only thing I’ll retain in the lease while I’m away is the storage unit that I’m paying $55 a month (located in a different building), and I’ll also be taking a few things with me to my duty station.

❋ Low rent

Parking spots right on the 4th floor - simply walk straight into the hallway where the apartment is. One of my favorite things about this unit.

❋ Parking garage

Fully furnished with style - just move in with your clothes, everything else is already set up for you to use, including kitchenware, dinnerware, bedding, etc. Feel free to use my liquor too.

Note: I may take a few things with me (e.g. record player, coffee maker, etc.) to my duty station but vast majority of furniture and other items will stay with the unit. I’ll also retain the storage unit in a different building onsite.

❋ Ready for move-in

865 sq. ft, 1-bedroom, 1 bathroom, 4th-floor, corner apartment with an oversized living/dining area and spacious balcony. Downtown skyline views from living space, bedroom, and balcony. Perfect for a single person and more than comfortable for a couple.

❋ Spacious floor plan
❋ Utilities: Washer, dryer in-unit, valet trash
❋ Entertainment: TV, Alexa, Wifi, Cable, Multiple Premium Speakers
❋ Kitchen: Refrigerator with freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, air fryer, and multiple kitchen tools and utensils
❋ Large dining table
❋ Queen bed with bedding set; inflatable mattress and mattress topper for 1 visiting guest

What's included

❋ Heating and cooling: central AC, ceiling fan
❋ Dual-monitor workstation
❋ Parking on premises
❋ Balcony and living space with downtown view
❋ Home safety: smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm

Living room

Ample of natural light during the day makes the living space bright and welcoming. Because the apartment is on the top floor and is a corner unit, sunlight and views are unobstructed.

Alexa-activated ambient lighting throughout the living space in the evening.

Kitchen & dining area

The Breville multi-function air-fryer will stay, same with most the other kitchen tools and appliances. You're also welcome to enjoy any of the liquor.

Note: I will take the Breville espresso machine and Dutch ovens with me.

Bedroom

I’ll leave you with two sets of bedding and a large comforter. Not the one pictured since I’ll be taking this set with me.

There’s a full workstation (double monitor, standing desk) in the bedroom for working night owls or WFH professionals.

Note: I will be taking the Concept2 Rower with me.

Skyline partially visible from the large bedroom window. Put the blinds all the way up if you want maximum sunlight and views during the day.

Bathroom & utility closet

Balcony

My most favorite part about the apartment. Wood tiled, with a table set that sits 3 people, overlooking downtown. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner al fresco or take your coffee outside in the morning.

So how does this work?

Please spend a few minutes to read through this section and the FAQ section. Afterward, if you’re interested, please fill out the form at the bottom of the website.

  • Since my apartment complex does not allow subletting, I will have to add you as a tenant to my current lease. You will go through their regular application and screening process. Please note that they have rental qualifications covering income, criminal history, and credit history.

  • Before we proceed with the apartment complex’s process, I will also conduct a simple background check using your driver license’s info.

  • We will both also sign a simple personal contract to align on payment terms and other expectations during your stay in the apartment.

  • You will pay me $1,500 through Venmo, Zelle or PayPal on the 1st of each month (the same day I’m automatically charged for rent and all other costs by the apartment complex). For utility expenses, I will request these charges once I have numbers from the apartment complex (for water) and Reliant (for electricity). My Reliant plan offers free electricity from 8pm to 6am with a minimum usage during the month.

  • Move in: no later than 2pm on Sunday, February 15 as I have to depart for my orders that same day.

  • Move out: no later than 6pm on Sunday, September 6, but can be more flexible

  • SPECIAL #1: If you decide to move in for the full period between February 15 and September 6, I will waive rent for the remainder of February (aka. free 14 days)

  • SPECIAL #2: If the apartment and the outdoor and indoor plants are in good condition when I return, I’ll shave $400 off your last rent payment.

FAQ

Technically, yes, but since my apartment does not allow subleasing, I will add you as a tenant to my lease to comply with management policies. You will go through their regular application and screening process.

1

Is this a sub-lease?

Are there any rental qualification requirements?

2

The apartment complex has specific rental qualification requirements covering income, criminal and credit history, and you’ll have to go through their regular application process. Before we go through the apartment complex’s process, I will also run a background check on you (no SSN, just based on your name / driver’s license info).

3

How will I pay for rent?

I have some limited flexibility in renting less than the 6 months and 3 weeks while I’m away and we can discuss.

How flexible is the length of rental?

4

Unfortunately, that is the best rate I can offer. I promise you’ll already be paying substantially below market for what you’re getting - it’s a really good deal.

5

Can I negotiate the rate?

Unfortunately, I cannot allow pets for this short-term lease due to risks I cannot take on as I’m not around to make sure pets are managed properly to avoid damages to the property/furniture and comply with management policies.

6

Are pets allowed?

Are guests allowed to stay a few days when they visit the city?

7

Yes, up to two guests are allowed for short-term stay not exceeding two weeks. Please let me know in advance so I’m aware.

Interested? Please fill out the form below and I’ll get in touch with you :)
